Everything from authentic Italian ice cream to culinary specialists from Nanhai will be on the table for your sampling when the Guangzhou International Festival arrives in town on November 25.
The festival, which focuses on local food and culture, and features cuisine from abroad, runs through December 4. The primary venue is the Guangzhou International Food Culture Plaza in Panyu, but other activities will take place in Tianhe.
For the first time, the festival will include street food exhibits featuring the cuisines of Nanhai, Panyu and Shunde - three homes of traditional Guangdong dishes. An international cuisine pavilion will be the place to find delights like Italian ice. And in Tianhe, 10 top local chefs will be showing off their cooking skills.
Foodies will also be able to pick up Canton cooking culture recommendations during the festival.
The Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou will host food week, along with the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government and the China Cuisine Association.
