Lovers of Italy and Italian culture and language will be able to get an ample dose of all three when the 16th World Italian Language Week opens in the city on October 17, which runs through October 23, will offer a series of cultural and other activities that will focus on the many bountiful treasures of Italy.

With a theme of “Italian and Originality: brands and costumes, fashion and design,” the week will introduce Italian creative industries to visitors - particularly fashion, costume and design - through exhibitions, conferences and films.

One of the highlights is the exhibition of the 2015 Gold Medal of Italian Architecture. The award aims to illustrate the relationship between architecture and civilization.

                                                    The Special Prize For Client(Public)

                                                  Special Mention Infrastructures

The cultural and language week is being provided by the Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou, in cooperation with the Triennale di Milano, Guangzhou Library, NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti di Milano), Istituto Secoli Guangzhou, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou University and Shenzhen University.

Organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Academy of Crusca (the cultural and diplomatic network of the Foreign Ministry), in collaboration with the Swiss Confederation, the event will promote Italian language in the world. The trend of learning Italian is growing in China as a result of economic cooperation between the two countries, according to authorities.

Italian Cuisine Week will be held from November 21 to 27, offering local audiences a glimpse into the history and tradition of Italian cuisine, information on typical Italian ingredients and food quality. As well as Italian cuisine, of course.
