As we move into the high — and brutally hot — summer season, the city’s underground shopping malls, connected by metros, are becoming more and more popular. They offer people a chance to shop for their favorite goods while hiding from the scorching sun.

Many people even take metros specifically so they can shop at underground malls. Currently, Guangzhou's underground shopping malls are mainly distributed along metro lines 1, 2, 3, and APM. Construction is currently taking place on yet another underground shopping mall beneath Huacheng station, on future line 9. Since they also is included in the city’s subterranean construction plan, more underground malls will appear along lines 5, 7, and 9 in the future.

To help our readers better know the distribution situation of Guangzhou's current underground shopping malls, Lifeofguangzhou has made a special map, along with text descriptions, of the below-ground malls.
