Water buses have become the fourth public transportation system in Guangzhou, following the buses, taxis, and Rail Transit.

The water buses number 51 vessels, take 14 routes, and stop at 35 wharfs. The total mileage they ply is 58.8 kilometers, the price is 1-2 yuan, and you will get a preferential price by using the Yangcheng Tong transit card. Life jackets and seasick medicine are provided for those who might want them. The earliest boats generally start at 6 a.m., and the latest usually sail until midnight, according to the Guangzhou Liner Company.

The water taxis opened in 2013, and the number of passengers has exceeded 50 million. The ships’ hulls look like yachts, making them more streamlined and comfortable than at any time in the past.

The address of Haixinsha Wharf is beside the main stadium of the Asian Games. One can walk from the wharf to the APM Haixinsha station in five minutes. The earliest boat leaving Guangzhou Tower for Haixinsha is 7.15 a.m., while the latest debarks at 6.15 p.m. The earliest shift from Haixinsha to Canton Tower is 7 a.m., the latest is 6 p.m. The price is two yuan, and three yuan for peak-hour travel.

Taking the “yacht” allows passengers to enjoy different vistas of recent Guangzhou history. Here are some sites the water buses pass on different routes.
