Explore Guangzhou's blossom scenery by metro stops
In March, Guangzhou is a feast for the eyes. Roads, streets and parks become blooming wonderlands. And much of the blossoming flowers, trees and shrubs can easily be viewed right next to the city’s many metro stations.

In March, Guangzhou is a feast for the eyes. Roads, streets and parks become blooming wonderlands. And much of the blossoming flowers, trees and shrubs can easily be viewed right next to the city’s many metro stations. Imagine you come out from the metro, turn in any direction and greet towering trees — kapoks and cherry trees raining pink — and green grass studded with tulips.

Here is a metro-hopping guide for exploring the blossoms surrounding some of the stations. 

Line 1

Kapok—Lingyuan Xilu 木棉花—陵园西路

More than 100 kapok trees along the two sides of Lingyuan Xilu make it the perfect place for kapok blossom viewing.
Direction: Martyrs’ Park Station, Exit D

Magnolia—Martyrs’ Park 玉堂春—烈士陵园

The flower hall at Martyrs’ Park showcases gorgeous magnolias covering an area of 500 square meters, as well as other beautiful flowers.
Direction: Martyrs’ Park Station, Exit C

Line 2

Mucuna gigantean — Liuhuahu Park 禾雀花—流花湖公园

Mucuna gigantean blossoms are like thousands of tiny sparrows perched on the trees by the lake.
Direction: Yuexiu Park Station, Exit C

Orchid — Guangzhou Orchid Garden 兰花—广州兰圃

The orchids in over 200 varieties start to bloom and perfume the air in the Orchid Garden.
Direction: Yuexiu Park Station, Exit B2

Rape flowers — Mingzhu Tower 油菜花—白云山明珠楼

The rape flowers resemble a golden ocean, scattered around Mingzhu Tower on Baiyun Mountain.
Direction: Xiaogang Station, Exit A

Line 3

Tulip — Haizhu Lake Park 郁金香—海珠湖公园

Instead of flying to the Netherlands for tulips, you can enjoy the colorful tulip blossoms in Haizhu Lake Park.

Line 4

Cherry — Guangdong University of Technology 樱花—广东工业大学

The blossoming cherry trees brighten the area besides the university library with their vibrant pale pink and white flowers.
Direction: Higher Education Mega Center South Station, Exit B

Line 5

Orchid — Luhu Lake 兰花—麓湖公园

The orchids at Luhu Lake are made into a romantic flower arch. When a breeze flows in, the park is freshened with a hint of sweet air.
Direction: Xiaobei Station, Exit C

Line 6

Bauhinia blakeana — Dongshan Lake Park 紫荆花—东山湖公园

Take a stroll along Dongshan Lake and enjoy the breathtaking views of blossoming Bauhinia blakeana.
Direction: Donghu Station, Exit B1
