With spring approaching, flowers blooming and the weather getting warm, why not go outside and get close to nature by biking? The following listings are places across Guangzhou that we recommend to explore by bike.

Haizhu District: Haizhu Lake and Binjiang Avenue

Near the Pearl River, Haizhu Avenue is one of the most romantic routes to go sightseeing by bike. Riding a bicycle while enjoying the breeze or listening to music can make for an excellent expedition. Surrounded by Haizhu Lake, Haizhu Wetland and 10,000 acres of orchard plus free wifi access, the avenue is really an ideal place for biking.

Liwan District: Fangcun and Shamian

Greenways in Fangcun and Shamian cross parks, wetlands, rivers and historic villages. They are filled with aromas of flowers and also provide the chance to experience Lingnan cultural features.

Tianhe Distirct: Linjiang Avenue and Sports Center

Stretching from the Guangzhou Bridge to the riverside of Yuan Village, the greenways in Linjiang Avenue enjoy justifiable fame for its beautiful scenery. Another traditional route for biking is by the Sports Center, where the roadway is surrounded by several big shopping malls and squares.

Yuexiu District: Ersha Island and Dongshankou

Ersha Island is surrounded on all sides by the Pearl River, and the greenways on the island provide wonderful places for walking, running, driving and biking.

Along the Liuxi River, Baiyun Lake, Jinshazhou and Maofeng Mountain, the Baiyun greenways attract visitors with their picturesque scenery and provide another excellent choice for biking.

Panyu District: Dafu Mountain and Asian Games Town

Greenways here are very wide and suitable for biking. A large suburban green area and riverside green space around the Asian Games Town can really make you feel peaceful and serene.

Huadu Distirct: Tianma River and Liuxi River

Along the two greenways you can find many famous spots like Stone Mineral Park and Hong Xiuquan Memorial Hall.

Luogang District: Changzhou Island and Bio-Island

The two islands are billed as paradise for biking as few cars travel in the area. Numerous bike rental stations and great vistas along the greenways always lure people.

Nansha District: Jiaomen River and Dajiao Mountain

Nansha district is just like a big “forest park”. Greenways there run through many famous scenic spots like Jiaomen River, Longxue Island and Nansha wetland.

Conghua District: Liuxi River and Wanhua Park
