Christmas is the best time of the year for many people, and already signs of the holiday can be found round every corner in Guangzhou. Several shopping malls are full of Christmas atmosphere, not only because of Christmas sales promotions, but also because more Christmas events are coming.
TaiKoo Hui: Christmas Wonderland
This year, Taikoo Hui plans to establish a dynamic Christmas wonderland. A train full of gifts rumbles on the rails, adorned with jingle bells and a teddy bear who serves as conductor. The train and a beautifully lit Christmas tree create scenes that highlight the wonder of the Christmas. Also the Christmas Wonderland fest puts on special shows in Taikoo Hui. A popping dance, a Christmas orchestra, and a Christmas Eve party will all be presented on December 24 and 25, as well as on December 31 and January 1.
Happy Valley: Christmas in Hawaii
Happy Valley cooperated with the Hawaii Tourism Authority to organize a special “Christmas in Hawaii” event. Here you can see Santa Claus surfing, Christmas reindeer dancing the hula, a penguin singing Christmas carols, and Hawaiian girls playing the ukulele. Special performances of hula dancing and ukulele strumming will be given every weekend.
In the north square of Grandview Mall, 1 million lights round Christmas trees will glow every night from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. through January 3. This “star sea” of lights is the first station of Christmas. The second station is a romantic “Christmas town,” showed on the mall’s the 4th floor through January 3. All Christmas decoration items — such as ornaments, Christmas lights, and wreaths and garlands — can be found there.
Canton tower lit its Christmas tree on December 3. Through the end of December Santa Claus will tote a backpack full of gifts to be given as presents to people by the tower every weekend.
Perc Central: Santa Claus studio
The first Christmas theme decoration of Perc Central, “Santa Claus studio,” is being hosted through January 3. A giant Christmas tree, a Christmas elf school, a gifts production workshop, a Santa Claus post box - people can see all these Santa related scenes here. Additionally, there are over 40 celebratory activities, including a Christmas band show, self balancing scooter dances, Christmas elf juggling, and percussion music. All will be on view every day from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Also, choir, harp and dancing will be performed on Christmas eve from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
