Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport will kick-start another artistic and cultural project called “Sea-Sky Corridor,” which is expected to be completed in July, following its creation of a “Time-Space Tunnel” that received wide praise for being the first ever science fiction experience display in a Chinese airport last October.

The corridor, with a backdrop of the Guangzhou Maritime Silk Road and its 1,000-year history, will exhibit Lingnan (area covering Guangdong and Guangxi) culture. The exhibit will be divided into three parts - past, present and future. Once completed, the corridor will become the first art design themed on the Silk Road in a public space around the country and the first large historic and cultural landscape display at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

The corridor will be located between the metro exit on the ground floor of the main terminal building and Terminal A. During construction, the passageway linking the two areas will be partly enclosed, possibly inconveniencing passengers with heavy luggage.

To lessen the inconvenience to passengers, the airport advises passengers with large bags or trolleys to avoid the displays and take the elevator to the underground.
