A group of students graduating from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies were found dressing like migrant workers and posing for their graduation photos in front of the school library on May 3. They were all wearing a plain white T-shirts, red safety helmets and some of them were adorned with checkered plastic bags, rusty wrenches, electric drills and other items usually associated with migrant workers.
It is reported that the students are advertising majors from the department of Journalism and Communication. They thought outside the box and agreed to mark the unforgettable moment in this special way before leaving school and starting their new lives.
The day before the students shot the photos, named "New Socialist Migrant Workers", a post advertising their activity with emotional words and pictures of 8 handsome "migrant workers" had been posted on weibo, Chinese twitter. The post said that the reason for choosing migrant workers' outfit was that most graduates work as hard as the migrant workers and get paid as much as them. The post was forwarded more than 500 times in one day and has created a hot discussion among net users in China.
