Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corner. Lifeofguangzhou.com invites you to join us for an international mooncake game at the Guangzhou Restaurant on August 27.

Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday for family gathering. It is held on the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese calendar, when the moon is at its maximum brightness of the year. This year, the festival takes place on September 15. Mooncake is a must-have bakery product when celebrating the festival. It comes in various flavors, of which lotus seed paste and sweet bean paste are the most traditional.

Guangzhou Restaurant, one of the most traditional Cantonese restaurants in the city, has been producing mooncakes for over eight decades. It will host our mooncake do-it-yourself activity for foreign friends, along with the Information Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government. Dessert chefs will teach you how to make mooncake and offer a variety of Cantonese bakery items, including baked pork pastry(鸡仔饼), crispy grain pastry(萨琪玛), and sweetheart pastry (老婆饼). We’ll also have some intriguing games like bakery guessing and painting facebook.
