Life of Guangzhou - Modern University Town

Phase One project of University Town was completed and put into uses on September 1st, 2004. There are 42,000 teachers and students from ten universities such as Zhongshan University, etc.. Education and the living order is good with various facilities running steadily. The University town construction is started completely since January 21st, 2003, completing investment of more than ￥15 billion only within 19 months. The construction structure is 2.3 million square metres with various infrastructures in high grade, it is one modern, informatized and ecological new town with initial scale, creating the wonder of harmonized comprehensive administration for the city building. Particularly it applied overseas or domestic leading technologies such as synthetical underground pipe channel, distributive energy resources station, regional cooling, central heating and the multi-use card. Moreover, it promotes the administration pattern of small proprietor, macro-supervision, specialization and socialization, sufficiently deploy the community resources to push forward the project, establishing and improving the creative organisations setup, systems setup, standards setup, supervision setup and evaluation setup to contribute valuable experiences to the city building in China. The Phase Two project was started in July, 2004 and to be completed by the end of 2005. The first class university town nationwide will make its debut to the world.
