Guangdong Residents Swarm into China's First Inter-city Subway

China's first inter-city subway, linking Guangzhou and Foshan, was put into service Wednesday. The 21-kilometer Guangfo Line, connecting two cities hosting the 2010 Asian Games, reduces travel time from 90 minutes to 30 minutes.




The photo taken on November 3 shows a crowded subway train of the Guangfo Line. From November 3 to December 10, residents can use the new subway free of charge. After this period, a trip on the line will cost six yuan.
