Israeli Mixed Media Artist Creates with GZ Children

Updated Beijing Time

Kids at the Guangzhou Children’s Palace were given an unforgettable art class this October with Israeli mixed media artist Hanoch Piven. They created their 'master pieces’ using recycled materials including plastic bottles, plates, and even CDs.

The Consul General of Israel in Guangzhou Mr. Avraham Nir and his spouse attended the event and gave lots of support to such interactions between professional artists and local youngsters. Although such activities might be common in the west, they are quite rare in Guangzhou and came as an eye-opener for many children (and hopefully their parents). Piven’s compositions are assembled from common objects and scrap materials. He emphasizes that "we should not set any restrictions when creating. Forget the names of the goods, place them according to their colors and shapes and give them new lives.”
