Dongxin Highway to Open in Nov

Dongxin Highway will open to traffic before the Asian Games open in November. Totaling 46Km in length, it shall save drivers the inconvenience of passing through Haizhu district when going from Fangcun to Panyu. Traffic authorities claim it shall soon take only five minutes to drive from Panyu to Liwan.

Unfortunately, car owners shall have to pay a hefty 30RMB for the entire length of the highway and 9RMB from Dongsha to the Guangzhou South Railway Station. Started in 2005, Dongxin Highway has 9 bridges and 12 interchanges. It plays a significant role in connecting Guangzhou and Foshan, and is important for transporting freight between Nansha Port and the northwestern of Guangzhou.
