Familiar to anyone working in Hong Kong or Singapore, elevated walkways linking office buildings have proven rapid and safe for employees whilst creating better traffic conditions for vehicles. Zhujiang New Town is soon to have its own network of elevated walkways connecting 17 buildings and totaling 660 meters in length.

The construction started in the spring but was slowed down due to construction precautions especially underground. The whole construction should be finished by the end of September. According to previous reports, the walkways were financed by the owners of the buildings connected to the network. Advertisements shall be allowed inside the walkway but banned from the outside walls. The only issue which remains uncertain is security, especially balancing the free-flow of people with the property owners’ constant worry about security.
