Free Tickets to Para Games Announced Ahead of 100-Countdown

The 100-day countdown to the Asian Para Games shall be held on September 3rd with a grand charity show – the Light of life. In a press conference yesterday (Aug. 29th) Lin Laoping, the vice-secretary of the Asian Para Games' organizing committee revealed that tickets to all the competitions shall be given out for free so as to encourage people to watch the games.
The Guangzhou Asian Para Games will take place from Dec. 12th to 19th and shall consist of 19 disciplines divided into 432 subgroups according to levels of disability. As of Aug. 28th, a total of 2351 athletes from 40 countries and regions had registered to participate. What's more, the organizing committee has pledged to cover the accommodation and transport costs for 3 athletes and 2 staff from each country.
Accessible to the disabled
The Asian Para Games shall also be an opportunity for the government to transform Guangzhou into a disabled-friendly city, with ramps for wheelchairs being added to many buildings and new signalization for the blind, including audio signal devices for the blind. Public transport will also undergo extensive renovation including wheelchair access to buses and metros. This should be completed by September 30th.
