An underground parking lot in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province was flooded due to heavy rain. Nearly 400 soaked cars were pulled out on May 10 after four days.

Nearly 400 cars in Guangzhou were pulled out of a flooded underground parking lot on May 10, after they were submerged in the rainwater for four days, according to CRI news.

Since the torrential rains started, some 13,000 cars have been soaked and badly damaged by the water in the capital of Guangdong Province. "About 60 to 70 percent of the soaked cars have now been sold on used car market." according to a person in charge of an automobile repair plant. He also said that "cars in such condition usually sell for 20 to 30 percent less than what they would normally fetch."

The employee added that "the owners usually decide to sell the cars, as it costs too much to repair them and they may still not be safe to drive."
