The Guangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention yesterday (March 15) issued a notice announcing that professionals working in the food industry are no longer required passing a hepatitis B screening prior to employment. This precondition has not been lifted for hepatitis A or E.
This notice is aimed at reducing discrimination of hepatitis B carriers, especially as health experts explain that "actually, the risk of hepatitis B transmission is extremely low in these professions."
