200 Performances Scheduled at the Guangzhou Opera House

With the construction of Guangzhou Opera House finally coming to an end, a press conference was held recently in Zhujiang New Town to announce the performances scheduled to take place this year. The opera management has decided to do things in grand scale will over 200 performances planned in 2010 although the details are still unknown.
The new opera house was designed by Zaha Hadid, a famous British designer and the first female winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize. The opera house should open in April ahead of the Ninth China Arts Festival. The building covers 42,000 square meters and holds a 1,800-seat theater and a 400-seat multifunctional hall.
