The 3rd China (Guangzhou) International Wine and Spirits Exhibition opened at the Pazhou Complex yesterday (Nov 26th). This three-day bi-annual event is supposedly the largest imported wine expo in China. It has attracted over 300 wine exhibitors from overseas all hoping to cash-in on the development of China's growing wine market, a result of taxes on imports dropping from 40% to 14% since 2005.

Spanish booth

31 wine producing countries are exhibiting in Guangzhou. Spain has bought one of the biggest delegations with 20 vineyards displaying their products and announcing that a shop will soon be opened in the Guangzhou dedicated to Spanish products.

Jean-Pierre and his posters

Jean-Pierre from France has brought over thirty old wine advertisements, all rare and original hand-made posters. The main themes are women, animals and landscapes of vineyards and his vintage posters are rare examples of the "Belle Époque" era. All the posters will be auctioned off from 10:00 – 12:00 on November 28th.

Wine tasting, promotions, as well as forums concerning the wine the industry will take place during the three-day expo. Tickets are available at the complex for RMB100.
