Cantonese Opera (Yueju) was recently recognized as an intangible World Cultural Heritage, making it the first of such recognitions by UNESCO in Guangdong and Hong Kong. The application was promoted by the three regions including Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau where this popular art form originated.
