A huge flow as many as 130 thousand visitors responded heatedly to the free policy on Saturday, the first weekend after Guangzhou’s 32 parks opened for free from July 1, Guangzhou Daily reports.

The rainy Saturday did not stop those entrants, the number of which increased nearly three times by the previous weekends. Some visitors claimed that the rainy day made them feel cooler than the sunny day.

The Yuexiu Park contributed to a half of the city’s visitors yesterday, up to 73 thousand. As of July 1, the park received averagely 62.5 thousand a day, doubling the number at the usual time.

Thanks to the free opening, stores’ business in the parks booms dramatically but a lot of leaflet distributors disguised as passengers come to parks.

The Baiyun Mountain and Guangzhou Zoo are not included in the 32 free parks, which made some passengers disappointed yesterday.
