New initiatives have been introduced by Guangzhou's Huangpu Port since June 26th designed to introduce effective customs clearance procedures. According to the initiatives, all export goods shall be categorized, a move which will reduce the time for customs clearance to three minutes for enterprises of Class A and Class AA. Additionally, such initiatives are expected to involve about 60% of export goods.
Currently, there are 21,444 registered export-oriented enterprises in the district, of which 59 are of Class AA and 727 are of Class A. As a result of the initiatives mentioned above, computerized procedures will be applied to low-risk export goods without export license to be provided or tariff to be charged. Besides, flexible customs clearance services, instead of the uniform one generally applied, are available for enterprises.
