One Million Tickets Available for Guangzhou Asian Games

The Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) is pleased to announce that one million tickets for the Games will be available for worldwide sale and that Cityline (Guangdong) Limited as the Exclusive Supplier of Ticket Services for the 16th Asian Games.

Cityline (Guangdong) Limited will provide a range of ticketing solutions for the Asian Games, including developing, operating and maintaining a ticket sales system; an official website for the ticketing programme; ticket outlets and venue-based ticket booths; providing consulting services at the Ticketing Call Centre of the Games and providing data and technology support for the production and distribution of tickets.

Specifically, Asian Games' organisers plan the following:

Regarding ticket pricing, GAGOC will conduct extensive market research and statistical analysis, while utilising the real-time experince cultivated from the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in Beijing as well as overall income and consumption levels in China;

GAGOC will maximise the number of tickets on sale to maximise opportunities for the public to enjoy the Games;

Environmentally friendly materials will be used to produce the tickets;

To ensure the safety of ticket sales, a variety of advanced anti-counterfeiting technologies will be used;

The sale of tickets will be transparent to ensure equal opportunities for everyone to enjoy the Games and

Ticket sales will be carried out through various user-friendly methods.

The public will be able to purchase tickets through an official website for the Games ticketing programme, at ticket outlets or at venue-based ticket booths. GAGOC will also set up a call centre for ticketing.

Ticket sales will be carried out in three phases. The first phase will start in January 2010 and end in March 2010, when applications and fees for tickets will be received and results then announced by lottery.

The second phase will be from July - August 2010, followed by the final phase from October 2010 to the end of the Games. In Phase II and III, tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
