Medical Insurants to Enjoy up to 65% Outpatient Fee Reimbursement

Beginning on August 1st, 2.6 million Guangzhou residents will be able to enjoy the new basic medical insurance, with reimbursements up to 65% at outpatient clinics.

The scheme will set a limit on outpatient fees at no more than 300 yuan per month, but officials from the Guangzhou Labor and Social Insurance Bureau said that this limit should be enough for 87% of patients. This scheme is expected reduce the cost of seeing a doctor, a heavy burden for many Chinese families.
