Theme as ‘Auspicious Guangzhou’, the ten big city name cards election was held in Guangzhou Five Celestials Shrine, to greet the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, Guangzhou Daily reports.

The election this time is organized by commonweal organization, but not the municipal government as usual.

Guangzhou is the unique city has the nickname ‘Five Rams City’ in the world. So the element of 5rams is often used in logos of education, culture, tourism, commutation and industry organizations in the city.

Member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC)Guangzhou Municipal Committee and president of Guangzhou Youth Commercial Association Xiang Yang suggested, the five rams legend of Guangzhou should declare the National Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH).

In addition, a mountaineering amateur Huang Zonghua from Guangzhou brought a logo flag of Guangzhou Asian Games onto the Mt. Everest on May 17, 2009.
