The contracted job ratio of 28 thousand will-be graduates from the technical schools in Guangzhou hit surprisingly 96.73% amid the economic gloom this year.

A job fair for vocational school graduates was held on June 21 in Guangzhou. 116 enterprises offered 3,200 jobs, with the monthly salary ranging from 1,300 (190 USD) to 5,000 yuan (733 USD).

More than 5,800 students were attracted to the fair.

All the contracts would not take effect until these students' graduation in 2010. The high employment rate in 2009 gave much career confidence to students who were still at school.

"Compare with the discouraging scenario for university graduates, the HR market for technical school students is full of opportunities," said Huang Yuanfei, Vice Secretary of Guangzhou Labor Security Bureau.

Pet paramedic is one of the hot cakes in the market. Nursing for the little ones could get a salary of 3,000 - 4,000 yuan (440 – 587 USD). Auto mechanics, logistics, hotel hospitality (especially bartender), and gardening are some other popular jobs in the fair.
