New Dog Toilets Built in Guangzhou

The "New Regulations on Dog-raising in Guangzhou" are to be formally released on July 1. Among other things, the rules stipulate that every family is allowed to keep only one dog, and all dogs should be on leashes when walked outdoors.

In recent years, some neighborhood communities in Guangzhou have built toilets for dogs. However, as most dogs are not willing to use them, the toilets have become little more than ornaments in the street.

To address the problem, "Version 2" dog toilets – said to be the most advanced "Intelligent Toilets for Pets" in Guangzhou – have been installed in the city's Zhu Jiang New Town area. These toilets are connected directly to the normal sewage system, and supposedly "seduce" dogs with an alluring odor.
