When the construction is completed, all trains with a speed of 200 km/h or above will set off from the new station, which will have the capacity to dispatch 200,000 passengers per day and sometime later, 300,000 passengers per day.

Mayor Zhang requested that all departments concerned should draw on the experience of railway station construction in advanced cities at home and abroad and put the new railway station into the city's traffic network, which also includes the downtown area, the airport, other terminals as well as surrounding cities. In other words, the new railway station will be a convenient transportation center where people can easily transfer between buses, metros, taxis, privately owned cars, airport shuttle buses, etc.

With a capacity to dispatch 300,000 passengers per day in the future, the new railway station is set to greatly alleviate Guangzhou's traffic pressure and strengthen its status as a regional center.
