Schedule of 2008's Swim across the Pearl River Activity has been set, as released by the Guangzhou government, with the date and time named as July 19, next Saturday from 14:30 to 16:40.

Like the previous 2 events held in 2006 and 2007, the starting point of the swimming will be located at Zhongda (Sun Yat-sen University) dock and the terminal of the north bank of the Pearl River opposite to the Xinhai Xinghai Concert Hall.

Direct route between the two banks of the river in this activity is about 450 meters and the swimming route will be 800 meters. 3000 swimming lovers are going to take part in the event.

18 key pollution sources of companies and 12 streams along the banks are monitored and controlled strictly, to ensure the water quality of the mother river of Guangzhou.
