New Subway Complex to Be Built

A 2,000-km subway will be built in the Pearl River Delta region to connect all the county-level cities in this area, according to Guangdong provincial development and reform committee.

Guangzhou will be the center of the subway network, according to the plan. Once completed, all nine cities in the Pearl River Delta region will be within an hour's travel. The network once completed will be as complex as subway systems in Paris and Tokyo.
