Life of Guangzhou - O Blood in Urgent Need in Guangzhou

The strong earthquake that hit southwest China's Sichuan province has already claimed 14,866 lives. More casualties are expected in the next few days during the rescue operations.

In Guangzhou, many volunteers visited the blood center to donate for the victims. As of Wednesday, Guangzhou Blood Center extended its service time to 7:00 in the evening to receive the flow of kindhearted donators.

A blood and B blood supplies are now sufficient in Guangzhou, released Hu Chongshui, director of the Guangzhou Blood Center; however there is an urgent need for O blood.

Anyone who wants to donate blood should make a registration of blood type at the center first for blood has a limited storage life. Then the center will collect and store blood according to the needs of Sichuan province.
