Guangzhou Automobile Becomes 1st Prestige Partner of Asian Games

The Official Launch of the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games Sponsorship Program and the Signing Ceremony of the Games First Prestige Partner was held on the afternoon of April 24th, at which the Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (GAGOC) and the Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC)signed the Guangzhou Asian Games Sponsorship Agreement, symbolizing that GAC officially became the first prestige partner of the Guangzhou Asian Games and would provide RMB 600 million in sponsorship to the Games.

Huang Huahua, Vice Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial CPC committee, Governor of Guangdong Province, and Executive President of GAGOC, presented at the ceremony and delivered a speech. Huang hoped that the GAGOC would make full use of the brand resources of the Asian Games, explore vigorously the Asian Games market, realize the win-win situation for social and economic benefits and make the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games the most outstanding sports and cultural event with "Chinese features, Guangdong styles and Guangzhou Demeanour". Zhu Xiaodan, member of the standing committee of the Guangdong Provincial CPC Committee, Secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal CPC Committee, Director of the standing committee of the Guangzhou Municipal CPC Committee, and Vice President of GAGOC awarded the prestige partner certificate to Zhang Fangyou, Chairman of the Board of GAC. Zhan Guangning, Vice Secretary of Guangzhou Municipal CPC Committee, Mayor and Vice President and Secretary-general of GAGOC made a speech at the ceremony.

The GAGOC also signed Cooperation Intention Letters with nine enterprises at the ceremony, including China Southern Airlines Company, China Telecom Group, China Mobile Communications Corporation, PICC Property and Casualty Company Limited, Guangzhou Development Group, Hopson Development Holdings Limited, Netease.com, Inc, KPMG International, and Crystal Digital Technology Co., Ltd.

Approximately 400 people attended the ceremony, including Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia, Guangzhou Municipal leaders Ling Weixian, Xu Zhibiao, and Xu Ruisheng, relevant department principals at the municipal and provincial levels, and representatives from more than 70 well-known enterprises.
