Tighter Security for Canton Trade Fair

Updated Beijing Time

The security check is tighter in the phase 2 of 103rd session of Canton Trade Fair in Guangzhou than the phase 1 four days ago.

People is required to show his ID card or passport when entering into even the taxi area and waiting zones outside the venues, in addition to the inside of the venues.

Police check a car at the Liuhua venue of Canton Fair in Guangzhou in April, 2008.

More police and security staff check and patrol around the venues, besides police dogs.

Two security checks are required before entry into the Pazhou venue, to permit, ID card or passport, and then to people and his belongings. Much fewer people were found lined for the faster security check on April 25, the first day of the phase 2, compared with the phase 1.

The check at the Liuhua venue is simpler, only permit needed.

The tighter security blocks almost all the non-business vagabonds out, and help make a better business environment inside the venue, some exhibitors and visitors said.

The phase 2 fair is regarded as the session with the tightest security in the Canton Fair history.
