The consulates of Cuba and Mexico in Guangzhou recently announced that individual tourism applications are being accepted by both consulates at their jointly sponsored tourism promotion convention. Mexico plans to launch the first direct flight from inland China to Mexico on May 29th.
CITS Guangdong noted they are speeding up plans for the tourism routes to Cuba and Mexico in order to establish tourism routes compatible with those to America that opened earlier this year. The direct flight promises savings of over 1,000 Yuan for Guangdong tourists.
According to the tourism agency there is no limit on the number of tourists to be admitted to Cuba so individuals may apply for the tourism visa from the Consulate General of Cuba in Guangzhou. It is necessary that each individual have a valid passport (validity period should be more than six months) and a round-trip air ticket to Cuba. Electronic air tickets are acceptable. The issuance of a visa normally takes 5 to 10 working days and an urgent visa request can be completed within 24 to 48 hours at the soonest.
Deputy General Manager of the Department of Tourism to the Americas, Lai Ruidong, estimates that CITS Guangdong will provide a range of high quality joint tourism routes to America and Cuba or to America and Mexico having a duration between 10 to 12 days.
