A conference for representatives, directors of Foreign Affairs Offices and chairmen of Friendship Associations, from 26 of Guangzhou's sister cities and friendship cities in 22 countries around the world, will be launched today in the city's Garden Hotel.

The 3-day conference is organized by the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government Foreign Affairs Office, with the theme of "Get to Know Guangzhou, Cooperate for a Bright Future". During the conference, representatives will visit the city's projects of culture, education and businesses like Guangzhou Development Zone, Nansha Development Zone, Guangzhou University Town, Zhujiang New Town and Exhibition Center. Further culture, technology and business exchanges are to be launched in the near future to strengthen friendship between Guangzhou and her sister cities.

Guangzhou has now made friends with 26 Sister cities and friendship cities in 5 continents across the globe since it first tied the knot with Japan's Fukuoka nearly 30 years ago in 1979.
