Guangzhou to Offer First Direct Flights to US This Summer

United Airlines announced that it would open the Guangzhou-San Francisco route on June 20 this year. This will be the first direct flight from Guangzhou to the USA. At present United Airlines offers tickets on this route at around RMB 7,000 for single ticket with the most expensive round-trip tickets in first class offered at prices up to RMB 60,000.

This route employs Boeing 777 aircraft with 10 first class seats, 45 business class seats, 84 premium economy class seats and 198 economy seats. The flight numbers are UA868/865. The plane departs Guangzhou at 11:00 a.m. and arrives in San Francisco at about 09:00 a.m. the next morning. The return flight departs SFO at 12:35 local time and arrives in Guangzhou at 06:00 p.m. the next afternoon.
