The live, three-dimensional and visual 3-D maps that emulate space have replaced the original 2-D guide maps.
The 3-D maps are a pilot release at the original "Street Map" sites at the entrances and exits of Gongyuanqian Station (Metro Line 1 and 2), Kecun Station (Metro Line 2 and 3), Tiyuxi Road Station (Metro Line 1 and 3), and Gangding Station (Metro Line 3) to elicit public opinion and suggestions. The public can contact Guangzhou Metro Company offering their opinions and suggestions at 83289033 or www.gzmtr.com.
In an effort to give passengers clearer and more intelligible guidance, the Guangzhou Metro Company cooperated with a geographical information technology company to introduce the 3-D maps. If accepted by the public and authorities, the maps will be produced in strict conformity with satellite positioning and state mapping requirements presenting an accurate, birds-eye view of Guangzhou inform a 45 degree angle. With the help of the image passengers can easily decide their directions through identifying buildings shown and other landmarks that they are familiar with the much more visual and lifelike images than those used on the original 2-D maps.
