Museums in Guangzhou are going to continue the Free Open Day activity in 2008, according to the Municipal Cultural Bureau, the open day will be set once in a month.
Schedule in 2008:
Jan. 23 (Wed.), Feb. 20 (Wed.), Mar. 19 (Wed.), Apr. 23 (Wed.), May. 18 (Sun. International Museum Day), Jun. 7 (Sat. China Cultural Heritage Day), Jul. 23 (Wed.), Aug. 20 (Wed.), Sep. 24 (Wed.), Oct. 22 (Wed.), Nov. 19 (Wed.), Dec. 24 (Wed.).

Also more free open days will be set for special groups of people:
May. 12 (Mon. International Nurse Day), Sep. 10 (Wed. Teachers’ Day), Oct. 26 (Sun. China sanitation workers’ Day). On May. 12, those museums that are closed to the public on Mondays could close according to their own schedule.
Guangzhou Currency Financial Museum is specially owned by the Guangzhou College of Finance. Its free open days will be set on:
Mar. 19, Apr. 23, May. 12 (International Nurse Day), May. 18 (International Museum Day), Jun. 7 (China Cultural Heritage Day), Sep. 10 (Teachers’ Day), Sep. 24, Oct. 22, Oct. 26 (China sanitation workers’ Day), Nov. 19, Dec. 24.
Open Time: 8:00-11:30, 14:00-16:30.
The South Sea God Temple has grand activity on Mar. 19. It’s not going to open for free on that day. Also Guangdong Museum of Art will be for free on its average free open days except there are “Special Exhibitions”.
