TV Program 'A Date with 2010' -- India

TV program 'A Date with 2010' comes to the sixth episode - interviews with India Consulate General in Guangzhou.

During the program, Consulate General of India in Guangzhou Mr. Gautam Bambawale talked about happy culture in India and China. There are five different types of folk dances according to different areas of India. "Dancing is Indians' blood." said Mrs. Consulate General. Indians express their happiness and worship for the God through dancing. Mr. Gautam Bambawale also tried learning Twisting Yangko Dance, a traditional dance from northern China, in the program.

Mr. Gautam Bambawale keeps practicing yoga half an hour every day. Similar to Chinese Taiji, yoga is a natural method of physical and mental Training.

Nearly 10,000 Indians are living in Guangdong at present with 4,000 in Guangzhou and 4,000 in Shenzhen.



The series of interview programs named ‘A Date with 2010’ was first broadcast on Guangzhou TV English Channel at 9:30pm to 10pm on January 20, 2008. Organized by Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee, Guangzhou TV and Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality, the TV program is aimed at promoting Guangzhou’s passion for holding the Asian Games, and sharing the cultures of different Asian countries.

‘A Date with 2010’ has ten episodes, which will be broadcast twice a week. Consulate-Generals of different Asian countries in Guangzhou, folk-custom experts, famous athletes, and emigrants in Guangzhou are invited to join the program. (Reported by Shanna Chu)
