Guangzhou's Amateurs Football Open Kicks off Again

The Second Amateurs Football Open of Guangzhou started in this South-China city on January 18, Guangzhou Daily reports.

The 7-aside tournament will last for 5 months at the Guangdong People's Stadium next to the China Plaza on Zhongshan San Lu. The final for champions will be played this July.

More than 100 teams from governmental, business and media organizations, schools and universities, and residential communities participate in this citywide public event.

Deputy Director General of Guangdong Provincial Sport Bureau Tian Xinde and other relevant officials attended the press conference yesterday.

After the conference, the Team of Xingqun Pangaoshou Pharmaceutical, the event's sponsor, played a friendly with an overseas team.
