A series of interview programs named ‘A Date with 2010’ was first broadcast on Guangzhou TV English Channel at 9:30pm to 10pm on January 20, 2008. Organized by Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee, Guangzhou TV and Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality, the TV program is aimed at promoting Guangzhou’s passion for holding the Asian Games, and sharing the cultures of different Asian countries.

‘A Date with 2010’ has ten episodes, which will be broadcast twice a week. Consulate-Generals of different Asian countries in Guangzhou, folk-custom experts, famous athletes, and emigrants in Guangzhou are invited to join the program.

During the program, Consulate General of the S.R of Vietnam in Guangzhou Mr. Le Ngoc Thu will visit Guangzhou’s famous Bahe Academy (八和会馆),dressed and made up to imitate some gestures of the Guangdong Opera [more about Guangdong Opera]. Young Vietnamese students will also perform traditional songs on the program.

In another episode, Royal Thai Consulate-General in Guangzhou Mr. Nuttavudh Photisaro and his wife will visit a well-known restaurant ‘Shahefen Cun,’ and make rice noodles [more about rice noodles and other Guangzhou Snacks]. Ms. Consulate-General will also present Thai dim sum made by herself to the audience.
