Police at Guangzhou Railway Station launched a bilingual consulting post Thursday. The guard on watch could speak both Chinese and English, as well as sign language, which will make life more convenient for English speaking expats and those who are unable to speak or hear.

It is the first time for the police to offer such a service to the public, according to Mr. Huang, director of the Railway Police Station. During the biannual Canton Fair in Guangzhou, 10 % of foreign businessmen and women among the large population of travelers visit other cities via Guangzhou Railway Station. Also Dozens of expats go for trips from the station on a daily basis.

Mr. Huang also released that, there will be 1 to 2 police on duty in the bilingual consulting post everyday. All the guards have passed the English language and sign language test requirements.
