On December 20th, a ceremony for operation of GAGOC's internship center for overseas Chinese students was held at Development Center (Fa Zhan Zhong Xi Da Sha) located in Zhujiang New City. Vice Mayor Xu Ruisheng, Executive Vice Secretary-General of GAGOC, attended the ceremony.

Xu said that the Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (GAGOC) established the internship center in order to encourage all non-governmental sectors to serve the 16th Asian Games to be held in Guangzhou in 2010. The participation of overseas Chinese will not only broaden GAGOC's vision but also help overseas Chinese students merge into local society smoothly. GAGOC will formulate detailed plans on recruiting interns through examinations. The interns most in demand will be the overseas Chinese talent who are engaged in sports and management.
