The second round of the 1st Guangzhou International Amateur Football Tournament (GZIAFT) came to life last Saturday (December 8) when Guangdong University of Technology drew 7:7 with the Turkish Club Istanbul which is composed of Turkish expats and Russian businessman based in Guangzhou. Shots Galore
The university team made an aggressive start with their two forwards attacking and took a one goal lead. Club Istanbul, physically stronger, countered primarily by attacking down the left and soon equalized. GUT ran constantly and passed the ball around fluently. Both teams created many chances and by the end of the first half it was 4:3 to GUT.
Crazy 7:7 Score
In the second half, the Club Istanbul changed their tactics attacking as a team and GUT became more passive and defensive. The crowed watched with bated breath as the game progressed eventually ended in a thrilling 7:7 draw.
The third match takes place at the Guangzhou University on December 15 and after the last game expectations are high. There will be an award ceremony after the next game co-organized by the www.lifeofguangzhou.com and the New Oriental School.
