First French Art Exhibition Held at Chen Clan Academy

On the afternoon of December 3rd, the opening ceremony for the first art exhibition presenting sculptures, paintings and photographs by French artists kicked off at Chen Clan Academy, an ancient building in Guangzhou. Those who attended the ceremony included Xiang Dongsheng, Vice Chairman of the Guangzhou People's Political Consultative Conference, Vice Consul-General of the Republic of France in Guangzhou, Chen Jixuan, the Vice Chairman of Guangzhou People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries as well as the delegation composed of officials from Royan of the Republic of France.
The exhibition will run from December 3rd, 2007 until February 25th, 2008. 53 exhibits in total are available at the exhibition, including sculptures, paintings and photographs by four French artists including Pascal & Garin. The exhibition will help citizens learn more about the charm of French culture.
The chairman of the Royan-Atlantic Coastal region said that it was a great honor for the French artists to show their works in such a symbolic building of Guangzhou.
