3,000 Metro TVs To Operate This Year

By the end of 2007, there will be around 3,000 Metro TV Video Terminals installed in the stations on Metro Lines 1, 2, 3 and 4 as well as inside the trains in Guangzhou, China, as announced in the Media Promotion Conference.




According to General Manager Xielin of Guangzhou Metro TV Media Co., LTD., to-date the Metro TV screen media terminals are densely installed in all station halls and platforms of Metro Lines 1 to 4, on all that the trains of Metro Lines 3 and 4 and on some of the trains of Metro Lines 1 and 2. A total of 2,700 units have been installed and the number will be increased to 3,000 by the end of the year.

As confirmed by a survey of the Beijing Sinomonitor International, the Guangzhou Metro TV has a media reach rate of up to 91.5 percent and a single ad reach rate of not under 40 percent.

The broadcasting schedule of the Metro TV coincides with that of the operating schedule of Guangzhou Metro and totals 16 hours of broadcasting per day. Many excellent program series are produced including news, finance and economics, sports and entertainment, each segment of which is three minutes in length. As of November 1st, the Metro Weather Forecasts have been on air to provide weather forecasting services to citizens.

Up to 75 percent of the Metro passengers surveyed thought that the Metro TV programs are brilliant, while about 40 percent would patronize the shops who advertise on the Metro TV.
