Metro Line 3 Accelerates Again

It is learned from the Guangzhou Metro Company that, with the ordinal delivery of the trains for Metro Line 3, the increase in the number of trains competing debugging, and the speedup of the debugging process of the signal systems, the runs on Metro Line 3 will accelerate again today.

The train interval for Tianhe Passenger Station-Panyu Plaza will be cut down from the current 5 minutes 10 seconds to 4 minutes 25 seconds during the peak periods. The train interval for Guangzhou Railway Station E. - Tiyu Road W. will be kept at 9 minutes 30 seconds.

Since it began full service at the end of last year, Metro Line 3 has been experiencing a continual rise in passenger flow. The average daily passenger flow in October exceeds 270,000 people. With more new trains being put into service, the Metro Company first set up peak, medium and low periods for Metro Line 3 according to the distinct passenger flow characteristics and regularity on workdays and weekends.

It keeps in conformity with Metro Line 1 and 2 in terms of operation and organization forms, using two sets of schedules to organize operations on workdays and weekends respectively and arranging the transportation capacity to meet the needs of passenger flow.
