Term began at a special school in Guangzhou recently. All the students were once homeless children lingering on the streets. Located inside the Guangzhou Saving and Protecting Center for Vagrant Children (GSPCVC), the school in Guangzhou's Luogang district accommodates kids aged from 6 to 16.

This special school is sponsored and cooperated by Guangzhou Salvation Center and Luogang Bureau of Education. The Bureau is to offer 40 more primary school teachers to tutor pupils in turns, every school term, with courses in Chinese, math, English, PE, drawing, music and psychological counseling.

The school is the first of its kind in China, according to the director of the GSPCVC, and all the teachers are volunteers.
