Top Three Bus Operators Start Operations

On the morning of October 12, Guangzhou No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 Bus Co., Ltd. were officially launched. The top three bus operations are the result of an ongoing restructuring of the 14 bus companies previously operating in Guangzhou. No. 1 Bus Company has been formed by the merger of No. 1 Automotive Company, Trolley Company, and Xinsui Bus Company; No. 2 Bus Company by the merger of No. 2 Automotive Company, Guangzhong Bus Company, Hengtong Bus Company, and Xinghua Bus Company; and No. 3 Bus Company by the merger of No. 3 Automotive Company, Zhenbao Bus Company, and White Horse Bus Company.

Guangzhou Vice Mayor Gan Xin revealed that after the restructuring of the public transportation industry, bus routes will be optimized, service quality will be improved, and traffic pressure will be reduced.

The restructuring has not affected the creditor's rights, debts, workforce, and operating model of all of the bus operators involved.

10 of the 14 bus companies have completed restructuring and the remaining four will follow suit within the year.
